Pamela Ann (Walsh) Lewis, 64, of Lutz, Florida, and a Scranton native, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2022 at AdventHealth – Carrollwood, Tampa FL following a sudden illness. Her husband of 34 years is James G. Lewis, also a Scranton native.

Born March 10, 1958 in Scranton, daughter of the late John “Jack” and Arlene (Larson) Walsh, Pamela attended St. Patrick’s Elementary School, West Catholic High School, and was a graduate of Bishop Hannon High School. A member of Sigma Tau Delta National English Honor Society, Pamela received her Bachelors of Arts in English from the University of Scranton, graduating magna cum laude. She then went on to complete a Masters of Arts in English degree, also from the University of Scranton. Upon completion of her course of study, she became an English professor at the University of Scranton, Marywood University, and Hillsborough Community College. She also served as a professional instructor at Bell Telephone. A lifelong Catholic, Pamela attended St. Timothy’s Catholic Church in Lutz, FL.

A dedicated professor, Pamela took great pride in instructing her students, and was always searching for new teaching methods and tools to connect with her students and foster in them a deeper understanding of literature, composition, and rhetoric, and inculcate a passion for lifelong learning. But of all her achievements, the vocation she took the greatest pride in was her role as a loving wife and mother, her labor of greatest love. In addition to time spent with her husband and sons, Pamela enjoyed nature and landscape photography, antiquing, literature, cinema, visiting the shore and historic places, and spending time with her canine companions Gizmo and Monty. Taken far too soon, she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Surviving in addition to her husband are: her adoring sons, Drew Lewis, North Arlington, NJ, and Garren Lewis, Newark, NJ; sisters, Mary Beth Walsh, Jessup, and Erin Marie Kulesa, Scranton; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pamela was preceded by a brother, Sean Patrick Walsh.

Funeral services are scheduled to begin on Friday at 9:15 AM from the Kevin K. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 N Main Ave., Scranton, with a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial AM in St. Patrick’s Church, 1403 Jackson Street, Scranton, to be celebrated by Rev. Richard Fox, Pastor. Interment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery.

Relative and friends may pay their respects on Thursday between 5-7:00 PM in the funeral home.
