Susan JoAnne Gieski, 60, of Jackson, MO and formerly of Dickson City, died Friday, October 28th in Jonesboro, AR. Her husband is Robert B. Gieski. The couple celebrated 7 years of marriage on January 1st.
Born June 6, 1962 in Scranton, daughter of JoAnne Robinson, Scranton, and the late William Willson, Susan attended Mid Valley High School. A Licensed Practical Nurse, Susan worked for Mercy Hospital, Scranton, Tyler Memorial Hospital, Tunkhannock, and St. Francis Medical Center, Cape Girardeau, MO. She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, Jackson, MO.
Passionate about crocheting, Susan centered her life around her family, especially her girls. She enjoyed motorcycle rides and traveling with her family, cooking, and nature, but she always put others above herself. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all whose lives she touched.
Surviving in addition to her husband and mother are her girls: Anastasia Hope Willson, Jackson, MO, Alla Faith Willson, Scranton, Serafina, and twins, Tina and Regina Gieski, whom she helped raise; grandchildren, Jasmine, Charlotte, and Connor; brothers, Timothy Willson, and wife, Debby, William Willson and wife, Carole, and David Willson; several nieces and nephews.
Her daughter, Jessica JoAnna Willson, preceded her in death in 1995.
A Celebration of Susan’s Life will be held on Thursday at 10 AM in the Kevin K. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 N. Main Avenue, Scranton, with Rev. Dr. Michael Shambora, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst, next to her daughter, Jessica.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday from 4 to 7 PM in the funeral home.
