Sally “Bootsie” A. Bingham, age 81, a longtime Taylor resident, passed away Wednesday morning at home, after an illness. On March 24, 2011, she was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Robert “Red” J. Bingham.
Born in Scranton on March 20, 1941 and daughter of the late Lester and Sarah (Hines) Lord, Sally was a graduate of the former Saint Ann’s Monastery High School, Class of 1959.
For 25 years prior to her retirement, she worked as an X-ray technician and dental office manager for Dr. William Yeomans. Of Roman Catholic faith, she was a faithful member of Divine Mercy Parish in Scranton.
An avid golfer until recently, she was a regular in the Pine Hills Ladies’ League, and with absolutely certainty, QVC just lost its best customer with Sally gone.
Above all else came Sally’s family. A loving mother and proud grandmother, she will never be forgotten by her family and friends.
She is survived by her adoring family including her daughters, Ellen Bolock and husband Paul of Mechanicsburg and Kathy Rowinski and husband Robert of Clarks Summit; her three grandson, Christopher Bolock and wife Kristen, Stephen Bolock and wife Alex and Robert Rowinski; and nieces and nephews.
The last of three Lord sisters, she was preceded in death by Rhea Gostomski and Joan Evans.
Her family would like to acknowledge and thank the entire staffs of Linwood Nursing Center, Home Health Care Professionals & Hospice as well as Drs. James Sheerer, John Prior and Melissa Taylor for their collective care, compassion and kindness provided throughout Sally’s illness.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Friday at 11:00 AM at Divine Mercy Parish, 312 Davis Street in Scranton, to be celebrated by Rev. Francis Pauselli, Pastor. Burial will follow at St. Mary of Czestochowa Cemetery, Moosic.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday at the church from 10:00 AM until Mass. Those attending the funeral are asked to go directly to church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Sally’s name to St. Joseph’s Center c/o 2010 Adams Ave, Scranton, PA 18509.
Arrangements are under the care of the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge.
