John Errigo Jr., age 69, of Old Forge, passed away Saturday at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton, three days after major injuries sustained in a car collision. John is survived by his beloved wife, Donna (Gubbiotti) Errigo. The couple celebrated their 18th wedding anniversary on June 6.
Born on March 9, 1953, and raised in Archbald, John was the son of the late John Sr. and Lena (Labori) Errigo. He was a graduate and football standout of Valley View High School before working 33 years as a dock operator for UPS Freight, prior to his recent retirement. His dedicated work ethic while never missing a day of work will long be admired.
John was an amazing cook of all Italian foods and a lifelong music fan, especially of the Beatles, he would never pass up a good concert. He loved his sports and was a die-hard New York Yankees fan.
John meant so much to so many and will never be forgotten by all who loved him.
He is also survived by his children, Dr. John III and partner, Anthony, of Fieldsboro, N.J.; Brian, of South Carolina; and T.J. and wife, Kelly, of Scranton; stepdaughter, Angela Suchecki and husband, Charles, of South Abington Twp.; two grandchildren who loved their “Nono,” Cassandra and Nicholas; and a sister, Marlene Errigo, of Peckville.
A celebration of John’s life is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 9, at 6 p.m. at the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home Inc., 517 N. Main St., Old Forge.
Family and friends may pay their respects at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until services.
In lieu of flowers and with John’s love for his pups “Charlie” and “Bee Bee” in mind, memorial contributions may be made in John’s name to Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, 967 Griffin Pond Road, South Abington Twp., PA 18411.
