Obituaries

Grace Unis, R.N., age 84 and a longtime Taylor resident, passed away Saturday morning at Guardian Health Care Center in Taylor, after an illness.
Born in Scranton on June 2, 1938, and daughter of the late Anthony “Tony” and Mary (Krawec) Unis, Grace was a graduate of the former Scranton Central High School, Class of 1957. She then attended the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing and Misericordia College where she graduated with her Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 1966. She also furthered her education by earning a Masters Degree from Marywood University in 1977.
Her career in health care spanned well over three decades as she worked between Moses Taylor Hospital and as a private duty R.N.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Anthony Unis.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Thursday at 10:00 AM at Divine Mercy Parish, 312 Davis Street in Scranton, to be celebrated by Rev. Francis Pauselli, Pastor. Burial will follow at Cathedral Cemetery.
Those attending the funeral are asked to go directly to church.
