Angela T. Abdalla, of Taylor, passed away Wednesday evening at home with her loving family by her side. She was 83 years old.
On January 6, 2014, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Ablain P. Abdalla.
Born on October 30, 1938 and raised in West Scranton, Angela was the daughter of the late Emilio and Frances (Terinoni) Tiberi. A graduate of the former St. Patrick’s High School where she had met Ablain, she then married and began raising a family.
She had raised three sons who she was extremely beyond proud of and she adored her seven grandchildren who loved their “Nonni.”
Always active, she was a Parent Teachers Guild President at St. Francis Cabrini School and, an avid area bowler, she had won countless tournaments throughout her decades of play. She was a die-hard fan of the New York Mets and the Game Show Network just lost its most loyal viewer. To know Angela was to love her. She was kind-hearted, selfless and caring and will certainly never be forgotten.
She was also a member of the Saint Ann Maronite Church in West Scranton.
She is survived by her loving family including three sons, Paul Abdalla of Ivyland, Dr. Emil Abdalla of Davie, FL. and Anthony Abdalla and wife Elizabeth of Clarks Summit; seven grandchildren, Alex, Jake, Tori, Gracie, Jack, Luke and Lucy; her sister, Tina Moran and husband Michael of Scranton; and nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Vincent Tiberi.
Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday at 12:00 PM at Saint Ann Maronite Church, 1320 Price Street in Scranton, to be celebrated by Rev. Antoun (Tony) Youssef, Pastor. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Family and friends may pay their respects at the church on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until services.
Those attending the funeral are asked to go directly to the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Angela’s name to either St. Ann Maronite’s Building Fund, 1320 Price St., Scranton, PA 18504, or to Little Sisters of the Poor, Holy Family Residence, 2500 Adams Ave., Scranton, PA 18509.
Arrangements are under the care of the Kevin K. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 North Main Avenue, Scranton.
