Obituaries

Patrick M. Hennigan, age 80, a resident at Big Bass Lake, passed away Thursday evening at Allied Skilled Nursing Center in Scranton, after an illness. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Helen (Zimmermann) Hennigan.
A Scranton native before moving to the Philadelphia area, Patrick was born on June 23, 1942. Son of the late Thomas Francis and Mary Catherine (Corish) Hennigan, he was a graduate of St. John Neumann High School in Philadelphia before proudly serving in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
For many years prior to his retirement, he worked as an operations manager for Conrail.
Living at the lake for the past 21 years, Patrick found no greater joy than while fishing. Also an avid golfer, his family was the focal point of his life – especially his two grandchildren. He’ll undoubtedly never be forgotten and always be missed.
He is also survived by his son, Patrick Hennigan, II and wife Kelly of Cherry Hill, N.J.; his grandchildren, Casey and Ryan; many nieces, nephews and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Siblings, Thomas, Jeremiah and Anne Hennigan and Mary Smurl, also preceded him in death.
Arrangements are under the care of the Thomas P. Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge, with a celebration of Patrick’s Life to be announced at a later date.
