John P. McCormick “like the spices”, 46, of South Scranton, died Saturday, June 4th at home. His life partner of 22 years is Jennifer OMillian.

Born June 4, 1976 in Brooklyn, NY , he was a 1994 graduate of Honesdale High School, where he was a pitcher on the baseball team, and attended Luzerne County Community College. John was employed by IMS as a sales Rep and General Manager for around 16 years and most recently before his sickness, he was an apprentice with Valley Plumbing and Heating.

Family was John’s life with the Steelers being a very close second. He enjoyed sports in general and was enthralled with March Madness. He also thoroughly enjoyed the Lord of the Rings series and Star Wars because deep down he was a geek. He loved dogs, and his adopted cat Benjamin who he definitely over fed with “treatsies” . John was very funny and could find the humor in anything. Ironically, he made light in the most serious of situations but actually loved blackout curtains and every room being as dark as possible. Gone way too soon, he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his wife, surviving are: his daughters, Miranda McCormick, Kingston and Maleena McCormick, Dupont, Future Son in Law, TJ Rosar, DuPont. In addition to: several brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces, and great nephews.

A Celebration of John’s Life will be held on Saturday from 3 – 5 PM in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 N. Main St., Old Forge when relatives and friends may pay their respects.
