Paula Anne Golden, age 61, Moscow, formerly of Dunmore passed away Thursday. She was a dedicated, loyal and loving daughter, sister, Aunt, niece, cousin, and friend.
Born December 10, 1960, daughter of the late Marie A. Golden and Paul E. “Goldie” Golden of Dunmore. She was a graduate of Bishop Hannan High School, class of 1978. Her education and career was in computer science and technologies.
Paula was of Roman Catholic faith. She believed in what her religion instilled in her, and that was to always walk a mile in someone else’s shoes. Since early childhood her love of animals, music, and the great outdoors were her greatest passions. Paula volunteered eagerly and willing for multiple non-profit organizations: the Scranton Ski Club, various cancer charities, Animal Rescue transportations and Animal Rescues both domesticated and wild. Her greatest gift from God was her own rescue dog “HANDSOME”.
Paula was preceded in death by her father, Paul E. Golden, May 8th, 1977, her mother Marie A. Golden, March 17, 2011, and her beloved big sister and best friend Sharon Lee Golden Hannon, April 19, 2002.
She is survived by a sister, Gayle Plevyak, several nieces, Stephanie Hannon, nephew Benjamin Hannon, Jr., nieces, Alexa and Alivia Plevyak, great nieces, Mia Helring, Giana Leigh Hannon, and great nephew, Robert Helring, Jr.
A private blessing service will be held at Cathedral Cemetery Chapel, Scranton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Paula’s name to: St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 and to any Animal related organizations of choice.
