Obituaries

George J. Juba, age 84 and a longtime resident of the Austin Heights section of Old Forge, passed away Thursday at home. On January 27, 2012, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 49 years, Genevieve (Brzostowski) Juba. A proud U.S. Navy Veteran, he was a member of the V.F.W. Post 4954 and of Roman Catholic faith he was a faithful member of the Prince of Peace Parish, both in Old Forge.
He is survived by sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Friday at 10:00 AM at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Prince of Peace Parish, Old Forge, to be celebrated by Rev. August Ricciardi, Pastor. Burial with military honors by the AMVETS Honor Guard will follow at St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
Those wishing to attend the services are asked to go directly to church.
