Edith J. “Edie” Levens, 54, of Springbrook Township, died Saturday at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Her husband is William C. Greenburg, Jr.
Born April 17, 1967 in Dover, NJ, she was the daughter of the late John Peterson and Joyce Levens. Educated in Mount Arlington Grammar School, she attended Dover High School. Edie worked most of her life as a waitress and bartender, and most recently, she was employed by Alfredo’s, South Scranton.
Edie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother whose family was her life and loved her time spent with her grandchildren. An avid Cincinnati Bengals fan, she will be cheering them on in the Super Bowl from the best seat in the house.
Edie enjoyed music, dancing, and singing, and spent a little bit of time playing bingo and going to the casino. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Also surviving are: sons, Alexander Kori Levens and William C. Greenburg, III; daughters, Tabitha Lynn and Tiffany Joy Greenburg; step daughter, Melissa Lynn Greenburg; grandchildren, Jasmine, Delilah, Pauly, Arianna, and Liam; a sister, Tammy Irwin, and husband, Rich; and several nieces and nephews
A brother, Stanley Brown, and sisters, Karen and Christina Brown preceded her in death.
A Celebration of Edie’s Life is scheduled for Saturday at 7 PM in the Kevin K. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 N. Main Avenue, Scranton with Rev. Dr. Michael Shambora, officiating.
