Obituaries

Marion T. Spellman, age 94, of West Scranton, passed away Sunday afternoon at Allied Skilled Nursing Center.
A lifelong Scranton resident, Marion was daughter of the late Maurice and Hazel (Holmes) Spellman and a graduate of the University of Scranton.
A longtime educator, Marion worked for the Scranton School District and prior to her retirement, she had positively influenced the lives of thousands of students. She was active in countless clubs and organizations and served as longtime president of the Womens Teachers Club. Of Roman Catholic faith, she was a lifelong member of St. Patrick’s Parish.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Thomas J. Spellman, in 2007; and a nephew, T.J. Spellman, in 1978.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Wednesday at 10:00 AM in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Oram Street in West Scranton, to be celebrated by Rev. Richard Fox, Pastor. Burial will follow at the Cathedral Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the care of the Kevin K. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 North Main Avenue, Scranton.
