Delores “Sis” Ann (Fayocavitz) Byrn, 70, of West Scranton, passed away Wednesday at Regional Hospital in Scranton after an illness. She is survived by her best friend, devoted caregiver and loving companion of 23 years, John Vidota, Jr., who faithfully remained by her side.
Born on July 20, 1951 and raised in Ransom, Delores was the daughter of the late Edward and Anna (Samsock) Fayocavitz. She was a graduate of the former Newton-Ransom High School before attending nursing school.
Her patient care was amazing, ultimately being acknowledged by Clarks Summit State Hospital where she was awarded the Volunteer of the Year Award. Above being kind, loving and thoughtful, she was a caring family member and friend who will never be forgotten by all who knew her. After a longtime illness, she’s certainly now at peace.
She is also survived by her loving family, sons Paul Fayocavitz and wife Melanie of Albrightsville and Michael Byrn and wife Michelle of New Braunfels, TX; 11 grandchildren; a brother, Joseph Fayocavitz and wife Phyllis of Clarks Summit; and many nieces and nephews.
Brothers, Walter, Robert and John Fayocavitz, also preceded her in death.
Blessing services are scheduled for Monday at 7:00 PM in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday from 4:00 PM until services at the funeral home.
