Obituaries

Lou Ann (Naughton) Petras, age 66, of Taylor, passed away Monday at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Gerard “Jerry” Petras on January 7, 2018.
A Scranton native, Lou Ann was born on March 25, 1955, to the late Ann (Reed) and Donald Naughton. A graduate of the former Scranton Technical High School, Class of 1973, she then graduated from the Community Medical Center School of Nursing. She began working as a nurse, primarily for the C.M.C., enjoying her career in health care while caring so much for her patients.
Lou Ann’s happy place was her home. She loved spending time in her backyard and adored her pets (her pup “Ransom” and her two cats “Simon” and “Moses”) as if they were her children. Of Roman Catholic faith, she attended Saint Ann Basilica.
Now reunited with Jerry, she will be dearly missed by family and friends.
Her family would like to thank Rick Melucci, Jr. for providing Lou Ann’s “Ransom” with a new loving home.
Blessing services and burial at Holy Cross Cemetery in Old Forge will be private. Arrangements are under the care of the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge.
