James P. Needham, age 69, a lifelong resident of West Scranton, passed away Sunday evening at Regional Hospital of Scranton after an illness.
Born on November 6, 1951, and raised in West Scranton, James was educated at West Scranton High School before working for Lomma Enterprises in South Scranton.
A quiet man of simple pleasures, he enjoyed his home, spending time with his adored nieces and nephews and being with family on Thanksgiving. A good man with a generous heart, he was a great brother to his siblings. He will be dearly missed.
Of Roman Catholic faith, he was a devoted member of St. Patrick’s Parish in West Scranton.
He is survived by sisters, best friend Ann Marie Marmo and husband Robert and Irene Webb and husband Robert, all of Scranton; many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews; and his longtime loving companion, Myrtle Archer.
Siblings, William and Joseph Needham and Mary McGinley also preceded him in death.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church, West Scranton, to be celebrated by Rev. Richard Fox, Pastor, with burial to follow at Cathedral Cemetery.
