Anthony Vanchieri, age 24 and a lifelong resident of Taylor, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 23rd.
Born on October 11, 1996, and son of adoring parents, Al and Norma (Kilvitis) Vanchieri of Taylor, Anthony was a graduate of Riverside High School, Class of 2015. He graduated from Penn State University with a degree in accounting before earning his Master’s degree in accounting from the University of Scranton in 2021.
Anthony was currently an accountant for Bernard A. Fagnini & Co. in Throop while awaiting his CPA exam.
Above all else Anthony loved spending time with his family, especially with his Dad, in the “man cave.” He enjoyed sports, especially football, where he was a longtime Philadelphia Eagles fan and loved attending games with his Dad and his Uncle Bill. He also loved the L.A. Lakers – just like his Dad did.
He was also the treasurer for the R&L Civic Club of Taylor and always enjoyed volunteering for the Taylor Borough Memorial Day Parade.
His smile would light up any room and he would never pass up the chance to joke around with those he loved, especially his Dad.
He will undoubtedly be forever missed by all who knew him.
He is also survived by his loving sister, Amber Herie and husband Jeff of Moosic; and his beloved niece and nephew (also his godson and goddaughter), Nolan and Kensley Herie of Moosic; his godmother, Emily Gilbert of Old Forge; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services are scheduled to begin on Monday at 11:45 AM from the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge, with a 12:30 PM Mass of Christian Burial at Divine Mercy Roman Catholic Church, 312 Davis Street in Scranton, to be celebrated by parish pastor, Rev. Francis Pauselli. Burial will follow at Old Forge Cemetery.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday from 10:00 AM until services at the funeral home.
