Jean Marie LeRose, 90, a longtime resident of Covington Township, died Friday in Paradise Valley, AZ, at the home of her daughter. Her husband of 57 years was Samuel J. LeRose, Sr., died November 20, 2009.
Born December 20, 1930 in Duryea, daughter of the late Michael and Susan Vrabel Zikoski, Jean was a graduate of Duryea Senior High School. Employed by the Tobyhanna Army Depot as an electroplater and was previously the first woman sandblaster in the United States prior to her retirement. Jean was of the catholic faith.
A loving mother and grandmother, Jean loved spending time with her family both here and in Arizona. She and her husband enjoyed their trips to the casino, especially Atlantic City and Las Vegas. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.
Surviving are: her children, Samuel J. LeRose, Jr., and wife, Michael Anne, Madison Township, and Suzanne LeRose, and husband, Ken Bragg, Paradise Valley, AZ; grandson, Brandon Bragg; several nieces and nephews; and her many godchildren and also Janet and David Zanelli
Brothers, Robert, Michael, Joseph, Edward, and Francis Zikoski preceded her in death.
A Celebration of Jean’s Life will be held on Thursday at 6 PM in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc, 517 N. Main Street, Old Forge, with Rev. Francis Landry, officiating. Private interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Duryea.
Relatives and friends may call on Thursday from 3 PM until the time of the service in the funeral home.
