Violet Anne Zrudlo, 94, of Moosic, died Saturday morning at Geisinger CMC.
Born August 7, 1926, daughter of the late John and Louise Horchos Supinski, Violet was a graduate of Moosic High School. A seamstress in various factories, Violet was also a personal caretaker even into her 80’s. Primarily of catholic faith, she was a member of the former St. Peter and Paul Church, Avoca, and the former St. Lawrence O’Toole Church, Old Forge, later affiliating herself with Moosic Assembly of God Church.
Violet was sweet and loving and known to be a mother to many outside of her family. Coming from a musically inclined family, she often enjoyed watching her children and grandkids sing and play and dance as her favorite pastime. She herself was a seasoned and competitive polka dancer appearing on TV. Violet will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Violet was most remembered to live life to the fullest and encouraging others to live healthy and make the most out of life. Violet rooted for the Yankees, especially Derek Jeter. Her last years were spent at home with her family, exactly where she wanted to be.
Surviving are: daughters, Bernadine, Marie, and Regina; sons, Paul and Jim; brothers, Ed and Francis Supinski; 4 grandchildren, including Lindsay, with whom she had a special bond; 5 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
A daughter, Louise Bator, former husband, Stanley Zrudlo, sisters, Stacia Chipko and Helen Baulo, and brothers, John, Joseph, James, and her favorite brother, Walter Supinski, preceded her in death.
A Celebration of Violet’s Life will be held on Friday at 7 PM in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, inc., 517 N. Main Street, Old Forge, with Rev. Ronald Ambrozak, officiating. Relatives and friends may pay their respects from 4 PM until the time of the service in the funeral home.
