Michael “Mike” Leschinsky, age 39 and a longtime Old Forge resident, passed away on Monday, after an illness.
Born in Old Forge on February 22, 1982, and son of the late John “Paduke” Leschinsky and Elverna (Minegar) Leschinsky Johnson, Mike was a graduate of Old Forge High School, Class of 2000, where he played football for the Blue Devils. He later worked for Kappa Graphics Co. in Hughestown.
Mike was just simply loveable. He was kind, caring and genuine. His smile was infectious and being with family and friends meant everything to him. Taken too soon from those who loved him, he will never be forgotten.
He also loved all sports and never passed up a chance to go fishing.
He is survived by his four loving siblings, Cathy Hoover of Old Forge, Josephine Armitage and husband James of Avoca, John Leschinsky of Moosic and Terry Leschinsky of Pittston; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A celebration of Michael’s Life is scheduled for Saturday in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge. Family and friends may pay their respects Saturday from 10:00 AM until a 12:00 PM blessing service at the funeral home. Private interment, St. Michael’s Russian Orthodox Cemetery, Old Forge.
