Obituaries

Steven Shrader, age 61, of Wilkes Barre and a Moosic native, passed away Monday morning at home. His beloved wife of nearly 40 years, Jane (Frey) Shrader, passed away on January 16th.
Born on July 1, 1959, in Moosic, Steven was the son on of the late Stanley R. and Janet N. (Vanscoy) Shrader. A graduate of Riverside High School, Class of 1977, he had previously worked as a certified nursing assistant for HGC ManorCare.
He loved fishing, gaming and a good buffet. Above anything else came time spent with his wife and adored son, Steven. Now reunited with Jane, he’ll long be missed.
He is survived by his loving family, son Steven Shrader of Wilkes Barre; his siblings, Randy Shrader of Taylor, Debbie Webb and husband Leonard of Duryea, Cheryl Petrochko and husband John of Blakely, Sandy Shrader of Scranton, Valerie Smith and husband Jim of Haughton, LA and Melissa Davis and husband David of Scranton; and many adoring nieces and nephews.
Also preceding him in death was an infant sister, Lori Shrader and a sister-in-law, Barbara Shrader.
His family would like to thank caregiver, Catrina Davis, of Wilkes Barre.
Funeral services by Rev. Dr. Michael Shambora, Pastor of the Stewart Memorial United Methodist Church, are scheduled at noon on Friday in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst Twp.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday from 10:00 AM until services.
Memorial contributions may be made in Steven’s name to his family to aid in the care of his son.
