Obituaries

Marie (Marabell) Marcy, age 83, of Scranton, and formerly of Tunkhannock, passed away Saturday evening after a brief illness.
Born on January 23, 1938 and raised in Tunkhannock, Marie was the daughter of the late Theodore and Ruth Marabell. A 1955 graduate of Tunkhannock High School, she then pursued a degree in college before beginning a career as a paralegal and legal secretary for various local law firms.
Marie will long be remembered for her strong work ethic and her love of music and dancing. Above all else however came her family. They meant the world to her.
She is survived by her children, Todd Marcy of Scranton, Karen Borden and husband John of Tunkhannock and her grandchildren, Matthew and Tanya Montross; and Connor Borden; a great grandson, Cole Knight; a brother, Theodore Marabell and wife Stella of Tunkhannock; and many nieces and nephews. A son, Charles “Chuckie” Marcy Jr.; and brothers, Joseph, Lewis and Donald Marabell, also preceded her in death. Private arrangements are under the care of the Kevin K. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 North Main Avenue, Scranton.
