Obituaries

Lorraine (Lane) Sekol, age 89, of Whitehall and an Old Forge native, passed away Sunday morning at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Bethlehem, after an illness. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, William H. Sekol, on September 7, 2011.
Born on June 26, 1931 and raised in Old Forge, Lorraine was the daughter of the late Richard (Dick) and Mary Butler Lane.
A graduate of Old Forge High School, prior to her retirement she worked as an accounts receivable clerk for Penn Linen Co. in Allentown. She was a member of the former Lawrenceville Primitive Methodist Church in Old Forge.
She is survived by her loving son, Randee Sekol and wife Pamela of Allentown; grandchildren; great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Joan Eskra and Mildred Thorne.
Her family would like to thank the entire staff of St. Luke’s Hospice for the collective care and compassion provided to both Lorraine and her family.
Funeral services and committal by Rev. Doug Hoeffner are scheduled for Wednesday at noon at the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge. Private burial will follow at Marcy Cemetery in Duryea.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until services at the funeral home.
