Obituaries

Richard “Rich” P. Hodak, age 65 of Avoca, passed away Saturday morning at home, after an illness. He is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Sherry L. (Belles) Hodak.
Born on February 10, 1955, and son of the late Michael and Wanda (Tyrell) Hodak, Rich was educated at Pittston Area High School. He had last worked at Poly-Hi as a machine mechanic.
Rich loved playing cards and pool with his buddies. He loved hunting with his son, Shawn, enjoyed fishing and attending auctions with his son, Michael, and working on cars with his son, Richie. He also attended the Moosic Alliance Church. Now at peace, he’ll forever be missed by many.
He is survived by his children, Nicole (Florida), Heather and companion Daniel Barnhart (Pittsburgh), Richard, Michael, Shawn and spouse Cheyenne Quales, all of Avoca. Pop Pop to, Sean, Michael, Joseph, Hunter, Nicholas, and Remington.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Hodak.
