Dolores Chilone, 93, of Scranton died peacefully Monday morning at the Mountain View Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was the widow of Conrad “Chick” Chilone, who passed away in 2010.
Born in Scranton, PA she was the daughter of the late Nelson and Helen Fayad Arlandis. She was a member of Our Lady of Snows Church in Clarks Summit and Saint Ann’s Basilica, in Scranton.
She was a great cook and hosted many gatherings as well as the traditional Sunday dinner for her family.
Dolores was the former owner of the Plaza Restaurant in Scranton, the Golden Eagle in Eynon and Dee’s Gift Shop in Taylor. In retirement, she worked for children’s clothing shops in Scranton and Clarks Summit. Her favorite pastime was shopping and once she found something special, she had to have it in every color. Dee Spent her last few years at Mountain View Care Center and made many friends with the staff, residents, and visitors. The family is most appreciative of the loving care provided by the entire staff at Mountain View Care Center and Dr. James McKenna.
Surviving are her daughter, Barbara Malloy, and husband, Jay, Clarks Summit; granddaughters, Colleen McDonald, and husband, Bill, Springville, NY, Kellee Tinsley, and Husband, Brian, Waverly, and Shannon Kehoe, and husband, JP, Waverly; seven great grandchildren, Gwyn and William McDonald; Jason and George Tinsley; and John Paul, Kylie, and Brennan Kehoe; her sisters, Rosemary Graziano and Patricia English, and husband, Richard; sister-in-law, Arlene Arlandis; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Nelson “Fred” Arlandis and sister Josephine “Tootsie” Chernansky.
A private Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Ann’s Basilica with burial to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in West Scranton will be from the Kevin K. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 N. Main Ave., Scranton. Please visit the funeral home’s website to leave a condolence.
