Obituaries

Lucille (Vancosky) Carey, age 83 of Old Forge, passed away Thursday, January 7th, evening at home. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Emlyn Carey, on July 28, 2010.
A lifelong resident of Old Forge, Lucille was born on October 25, 1937, and daughter of the late Francis and Nellie (Paduch) Vancosky. A graduate of Old Forge High School, Lucille worked as a seamstress before raising her family. Her found her greatest happiness while being at home. She will be missed.
Of Roman Catholic faith, she was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish in Duryea.
She is survived by her children, Scott Carey and Theresa Carey, both of Old Forge; sons-in-law, Gerard Petrosky of Binghamton, N.Y. and David Nocera of Falls Twp.; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Daughters, Lucia Petrosky and Jacinta Nocera; and brothers, Francis and Joseph Vancosky, also preceded her in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Wednesday, January 20th, at 9:30AM at Nativity of Our Lord Parish at Holy Rosary Church c/o 127 Stephenson Street, Duryea, 18642. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Old Forge. Those wishing to attend the funeral are asked to go directly to church.
