Rosemary (Hosking) Nodolski, age 85, of Moosic and a longtime resident of Old Forge, passed away Tuesday morning at Allied Hospice in Scranton, after an illness. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Edward J. Nodolski, on July 24, 2008.
Born in Old Forge on April 25, 1935, daughter of the late John and Mary (Corbett) Hosking Brown, Rosemary was a graduate of Old Forge High School, Class of 1952. After working for the former Old Forge Bank, she was a longtime bookkeeper for the Pittston Lumber Company prior to her retirement.
Rosemary will forever be remembered as an amazing cook, an animal lover having given a home to countless strays throughout her years and, above all, a loving mother and grandmother. Now at peace, she’ll never be forgotten.
She is survived by her loving family, two daughters, Dr. Maryann Decker and husband James of Moosic and Jacqueline Leone and husband Chris of Hamlin; her grandchildren, Morgan, Makayla and Jimmy Decker; and nieces and nephews.
Her three siblings, an infant Jean, John “Jack” and Gerald “Hozzy” Hosking, also preceded her in death.
Her family would like to acknowledge and thank the entire staff of Allied Hospice for its care and compassion throughout Rosemary’s stay.
Private blessing services with burial to follow at Marcy Cemetery in Duryea will be from the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge.
Due to her love for animals, memorial contributions may be made in Rosemary’s name to The Humane Society of the United States c/o 1255 23rd Street, NW, Suite 450, Washington, DC 20037.
