Leonard Webb, age 91, of the Glendale section of Pittston Twp., passed away Thursday evening at Wilkes Barre General Hospital, after an illness. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 44 years, Audrey (Wiltshire) Webb, on February 1, 1997.
Born in Moosic on February 3, 1929, son of the late Oscar, Sr. and Ethel (Seig) Webb, Leonard was educated at the former Moosic High School before proudly serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War before his honorable discharge from service.
Upon his retirement from Ingersoll Rand, he then drove as a courier for Valley Distribution, where he had continue to work until he was 89 years young.
Leonard was a faithful member of the Moosic Alliance Community Church. He enjoyed camping at “Secluded Acres”, where he had spent many summers. He was never one to pass up the chance to dine out, and he also loved going for walks. Independent and strong-willed, Leonard lived life by his own terms. Possessing a heart of gold, he’ll always be remembered as someone who would do anything for those he loved.
He is also survived by his children, Leonard (Lenny) Webb and wife Debbie of Duryea, Debra Rozaieski and husband Frank of Old Forge, Cindy Petroshuk and husband Robert of Scranton, Penny Kane and husband Joseph of Moosic and Bonnie Miles and husband Brian of West Wyoming; ten grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a son-law, Duane Smith; siblings, William Webb of Scranton, Ruth Gensel of Chester, Hope McCracken of Moosic, Janice Mackes and husband Robert of VA and Ann Webb of Moosic; and many niece and nephews.
A daughter, Kim Smith; grandsons, Sean Smith and Keith Bidwell; and siblings, Robert, Philip, David and Oscar Webb, Jr. also preceded him in death.
His family would like to thank the entire staff of Highland Manor where Leonard had resided for the past year.
Private blessing services by Rev. Eric Ferguson will be from the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge, with burial to follow at Fairview Memorial Park in Elmhurst Twp. where military honors will be conducted by the AMVETS Honor Guard.
Memorial contributions may be made in Leonard’s name to the Moosic Alliance Community Church c/o 608 Rocky Glen Road, Avoca, PA 18641.
