Helen T. (Dudeck) Gaul, age 73, a lifelong resident of Old Forge passed away Tuesday morning at Riverside Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Taylor, after an illness. She is survived by her devoted and beloved husband, Richard Gaul.
Born in Old Forge on December 20, 1946, and daughter of the late Andrew and Vivian (Moyer) Dudeck, Helen was a graduate of Old Forge High School. A longtime seamstress, she ultimately became a certified nurses aid, serving as a home health nurse prior to her retirement.
Active and always on the go, Helen enjoyed dancing, was never one to pass up a game of BINGO or Keno, and above all else, loved family get-togethers. She will forever be missed by her family and friends.
Of strong faith, she was a devoted member of the Olive Branch Church in Taylor.
She is survived by her adoring family, sons John Gaul and wife Nicole of Old Forge, Thomas Gaul and wife Chris of Old Forge, Robert Gaul of Moosic and Richard Gaul and wife Gail of Dillsburg; three grandchildren, McKenzie, Tori and Taylor Tansley; siblings, Andrew Dudeck, Jr. and wife Debbie of Old Forge, Sally Brown and husband Les of Old Forge, Irene Ziemba and husband Joseph of Old Forge, Andrea Cohowicz of Taylor, Vivian Dudeck of Taylor, Charlene Macavage of Scranton, Marie Greenfield of Taylor and Julie Metzgar and husband Ralph of Clarks Summit; and many nieces and nephews.
Siblings, Michael J. Dudeck, Barbara Matthews, Marion Gaughan and Catherine Cox also preceded her in death.
Her family would like to thank the amazing staff of Riverside Nursing Center for the care given to Helen throughout her stay.
Funeral services by Rev. Carl Brigido, Olive Branch Pastor, are scheduled for Monday, December 14th, at 7:00PM in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street in Old Forge. Family and friends may pay their respects from 4:00PM until service at the funeral home. Private burial, Mountain Home Cemetery.
