Thomas J. Smith, age 44, of Moscow, passed away Sunday at home.
Born in Scranton on May 23, 1976 and son of Donna Venturi of Eynon and Thomas A. Smith and wife Donna of Madisonville, Thomas was a 1994 graduate of North Pocono High School.
Primarily working in construction, Tom became a skilled and talented mason. He loved the outdoors, and never missed an opportunity to go fishing or hunting. He adored animals, especially dogs, and he was heart broken over the loss of his beloved “Sully” several years ago.
It was impossible not to have a great time while being in Tom’s company. His humor was memorable and his kindness was genuine. Unexpectedly passing on Sunday, he’ll forever be loved by family and friends.
He is also survived by his son, Thomas D. Smith; his half-siblings, Michael Smith of Madisonville and Julie Parisi of Scranton; his maternal grandmother, Shirley Williams; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins, including special aunt, Sally Yerke.
A celebration of Tom’s life will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Tom’s name to either Griffin Pond Animal Shelter c/o 967 Griffin Pond Rd, South Abington Township, PA 18411 or to the Pennsylvania State Troopers Association
c/o 3625 Vartan Way, Harrisburg, PA 17110
Arrangements are under the care of the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge.
