Edith Joanne Rotbert, died unexpectedly on Friday, August 7, 2020 in Scranton, PA. She was born on July 1961 in Queens, New York to Gladys and Otha English. Edith attended Hunter College and earned a B.A. in Media Studies. She studied art and design at the School of Visual Arts and media writing at the New School. She freelanced in the creative industries, and worked as a paralegal for prestigious law firms in New York City.
Edith always looked for the spark of possibility in life. Her interests led her to travel and appreciate diverse cultures in the United States and Europe. She shared this knowledge with her children, Toye and Michael, and her grandson, Chase, whom she adored. She will live in their memories, dreams and reflections.
Edith is also remembered by her ex-husbands: Bruce (daughter Toye), Courtney (son Michael), Cliff (and sons); father, Otha; siblings Patricia (John), Joan (Eden), Ginetta, Bedelia, and Ike; five nephews, two cousins; extended family and friends. She is predeceased by her beloved mother, Gladys, brother, Stephen and aunt, Virginia.
