George J. Taylor, III, age 72, of Scranton, passed away Friday morning at Allied Hospice Center, after an illness.

“I received the call from hospice; the nurse told me that after my dad had his bath, he peacefully passed away with the chaplain by his side at 10:22 AM this morning. I was drawn to Hebrews 10:22 NKJV… “Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.”
My dad lived a hard life and never harmed anyone but himself. In the final stage of his life cancer consumed his entire body. I know he is in a better place, without pain and finally at peace. Tears of joy instead of sadness for my dad, their Pop-Pop George, her first love, her brother, their uncle, her son… who fought long and hard to try and get his life right for his family.
I’m grateful, he got to hear me say, “You did well, we appreciate you fighting as hard as you have and it’s okay…” I got choked up before I could finish the sentence and say “…to let go!”
The call this morning was confirmation that he heard me!
Rest in Peace George Julius Taylor III…Dad”
-Robyn Majette, daughter.
