Bruce Gerard Vairo of Throop, passed away Thursday, his 67th birthday, at home.
A New York City, N.Y. native, Bruce was born on April 23, 1953 and was the son of Gerard and Ruth (Reo) Vairo. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, earning the National Defense Service Medal, prior to a 1973 Honorable Discharge from service. He had worked for TMG Health prior to illness. He will be dearly missed, especially by his three adoring daughters.
He is survived by his daughters, Kerry Cabassa of Dickson City, Katie Vairo of Dickson City, and Shannon Vairo of Scranton; siblings, Freddy, Susan, Theresa and Jimmy, all of Bruce’s native New York; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Private arrangements are under the care of the Kevin K. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 North Main Avenue, Scranton.
