Obituaries

Chyril Dawn Trent, 64, a guest of ManorCare, Kingston, passed away Thursday afternoon, after an illness.
Born in Batesville, Arkansas on September 26, 1955, and daughter of the late Clifford and Lula (Southard) Sheparis, Chyril attended cosmotology school upon high school graduation. She eventually moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, where she worked as a card dealer for several casinos on the Las Vegas strip.
She moved to the area and began a cleaning service, a job she enjoyed, before retirement and her unfortunate cancer diagnosis a year ago. Her kind heart and selfless character truly cared about others, evident by her faithful volunteerism as local nursing homes. She enjoyed bird watching, loving birds of all kinds.
A true outdoorswoman, Chyril especially loved fishing. Above all else came her family, especially her children who she deeply adored. She’ll forever be missed by family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Regina Botros of Raleigh, North Carolina and Mario Rodriguez of Wilkes Barre; her sister, Kathy Soroka and husband David of Avoca; her sister-in-law, Terri Southard of Wilkes Barre; and countless more relatives and friends. Her brother, Robert C. Southard and wife Terri, both formerly of Wilkes Barre, also preceded her in death.
