Susan Giampapa, R.N., age 63, of Canadensis, passed away Sunday at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton, after an illness.
Susan’s impact made the world a better place for those she touched. She possessed qualities that seem to be receding in today’s world, and we need more people like her to keep us on a virtuous course.
Love. Above all, she was full of love for her family, especially her children and grandchildren, who gave her the most purpose in life.
Compassion. She showed sympathy and concern for other people, animals, the environment, helping whenever she could.
Truth. She took a logical approach to challenges, finding the truth, and telling the truth, even when it was not comfortable to hear. She knew that only by recognizing the truth could we find real solutions.
Curiosity. As a world traveler to the most isolated places, and a voracious reader, her curiosity was always in high-gear, giving her an enormous wealth of knowledge. Combined with her exceptional intelligence, her potential was endless.
Strength. She accepted challenges with equanimity. Even death was something she never feared, for she knew there was more.
Leading by Example. She lived her principles instead of just talking about them.
Faith. In her later years, she gained full confidence in a greater plan than our life here on earth – higher energy that she looked forward to exploring, and is doing so now.
Although we feel she left us too early, she will live on through her children, grandchildren, who will diffuse her best qualities to future generations yet unborn. In this way, her impact will be eternal.
Although in a different realm now, she will be ever-present, watching over us on this earth until it’s our time to move onward. We will always remember her and love her until we meet again to embrace each other.
Private arrangements are under the care of the Kevin K. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 North Main Avenue, Scranton.
