Parker Palermo, age 20, a lifelong Scranton resident, passed away tragically Sunday at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton.
Born on August 8, 1998, son of Oscar Perkins and Mindy Palermo and step son of Donald Albritton, Parker was educated at Scranton High School. He had a passion for music and aspired to be a song writer and rapper. When inspiration hit, he would spend hours and many all-nighters with his pen and notepad, creating words his family will cherish forever.
A loyal Steelers fan, his love of football started at the age of five while playing for the North Scranton Vikings. With his Mom, Grandma and Grandpa cheering him on, Parker played his heart out on that field every Sunday.
He’ll be forever missed by his adoring family and friends, especially his younger twin brothers, Quinten and Cameron, who loved spending time with Parker playing basketball, video games or just goofing around. His memory will long live on through Catalina Parker Palermo, his soon-to-be-born daughter.
He is also survived by his loving grandparents, Mary Kay and Michael Palermo of Scranton; his siblings, Quinten and Cameron Palermo, both of Scranton, Donald Albritton, military service stationed in Florida, and Pastel Albritton of Philadelphia; his faithful girlfriend, Amber Williams; his uncle, Mikey; aunts, Michele, Melissa and Melanie; and cousins and countless friends.
A funeral Mass is scheduled for Friday at 11:30 a.m. at Mary Mother of God Parish at Holy Rosary Church in Scranton, to be celebrated by Rev. Cyril Edwards, Pastor. Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday from 10:30 a.m. until Mass at the church.
Arrangements are under the care of the Kevin K. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 North Main Avenue, Scranton.
