Obituaries

Linda A. Jankowski (Sharr), age 40, of Scranton, passed away Tuesday at the Gardens of Wyoming Valley, after an illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Sharr, on July 26, 2008.
Born in Scranton on November 21, 1978, daughter of Monique (Valnion) Ward of Moosic and the late Leo Jankowski, Sr., Linda was a graduate of Scranton High School. Prior to becoming ill, she worked as a nursing aide for both the Taylor and Linwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Centers. A longtime member of S.S. Peter and Paul Church Parish in West Scranton, Linda’s favorite pastime was always gardening. Now at peace, she will forever be missed.
She is also survived by her daughter, Jennifer Sharr of FL; step-son, Jerome Sharr of Wilkes Barre; sisters, Lisa Jankowski of Jefferson Twp. and Dana Sharr of Scranton; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her twin brother, Leo Jankowski, Jr., also preceded her in death.
Services by Dec. Carmine Mendicino are scheduled for Thursday at noon at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery Chapel, West Scranton. Arrangements are under the care of the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge.
