Obituaries

Edith E. Smith, age 83, of Moosic, died Monday at Mercy Hospice Unit, Scranton, after a long illness. She was the widow of Howard C. Smith, who died December 21, 1985.
Born on December 28, 1922 in Moosic, she was the daughter of the late Winfield Scott and Elizabeth Williams VanBuskirk. She was a member of the Moosic United Methodist Church. She was a loving mom and loved taking care of her pets.

She is survived by her son, Gary Smith of Moosic, and a daughter, Sharon Kroptavich and her husband Robert, of Ransom, a sister-in-law, Carol Smith, Pittston, and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Bill VanBuskirk.

The funeral will be Thursday at 2:00 P.M. in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, 517 N. Main Street, Old Forge, by Rev. Jean Blackie, Pastor of the Moosic United Methodist Church, Moosic. Interment will be at Mt. Greenwood Cemetery in Trucksville.
