Helen Kobesky, age 91, a guest of St. Mary’s Villa Nursing Home in Moscow, passed away Friday evening. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph S. Kobesky, on March 31, 1992.
Born on April 4, 1927, and raised in the Minooka section of Scranton, Helen was the daughter of the late Charles and Amelia Bielucki Olof. A graduate of the former Minooka High School, upon raising her family she worked in the purchasing department of the Murray Corporation, South Scranton.
Of Roman Catholic faith, she was a member of Saint Ann’s Basilica while living in West Scranton. The most beautiful, wonderful and selfless individual, she put everyone else’s needs above her own. She was a truly genuine and loving person whose main priority was her family.

Sisters, Lucille Olof and Mary Philipkoski, also preceded her in death.
Her family would like to thank the entire staff of St. Mary’s Villa for their amazing care throughout Helen nearly five-year stay.
