Ernest (Ernie) P. Gentile, age 65, of Dunmore, passed away suddenly Thursday at home. Surviving is his loving wife, Mazie Gentile. They celebrated their 39th wedding anniverary on September 15th.
Born in Scranton on March 3, 1953, Ernie was the son of the late Ernest and Victoria Metrishyn.
He was the proud owner and operator of Gentile’s Contracting in Dunmore, and of Roman Catholic faith, he was a member of St. Paul’s Church, Green Ridge section of Scranton.
He had an amazing work ethic but beyond work, he was happiest while spending time with his family, especially his two grandchildren. A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, Ernie will long be missed by family and friends.
He is also survived by his two beloved sons, Christopher Gentile and Michael Gentile and wife Caroline, all of Dunmore; grandchildren, Michael and Lana Gentile; brothers, Louis Ralph Gentile and wife Debbie of Fairfax, Virginia and Mark A. Gentile and wife Renee of Dunmore; nieces, nephews and countless friends.
Private arrangements are under the care of the Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 North Main Avenue, Scranton.
