George Lockett, age 88, of Binghamton, New York and a Moosic native passed away Sunday. Surviving is his beloved companion of over 25 years, Laura Eschbach.
Born in Moosic on August 16, 1930, and son of the late George and Ethel Thomas Lockett, George was a graduate of the former Moosic High School. He honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War after graduating from Thadeus Stevens College of Technology in Lancaster. He ended his longtime career in technology after retiring from IBM Federal Systems – Owego, New York – as an electrical engineer.
He was a member of both the Moosic Presbyterian Church and Avoca’s West Side Social Club.
He is also survived by his brother, Thomas Lockett of Scranton.
A private burial will take place at Abington Hills Cemetery.
