Jeremy L. Weitz, age 31, of Dalton, passed away tragically Saturday afternoon after a house fire. He is the beloved son of Kim Rosencrans and step-son of Neil Miller of Dalton.
Born in Kingston on January 22, 1987, Jeremy was a graduate of Elk Lake High School, Class of 2008. He then became part of the St. Joseph’s Center family as a member of their Adult Care program.
Jeremy was a sweetie pie. He was comical, funny and adored the love and attention of others. He enjoyed spending time outdoors embracing the sunshine on his little face, loved listening to music and, an animal lover, he enjoyed being with his four dogs. Above all else was his bond with his mother; he was his mother’s everything and now he will remain her guardian angel forever.
He is also survived by loving siblings, Matthew Jeremy Rosencrans of Pittsburgh, Nicholas Miller of Dalton and Kelsey-Jean Marie Miller and husband William Thomas of Honesdale; grandmother, Doris Rosencrans of Laflin; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A grandfather, Richard Rosencrans, also preceded him in death.
A celebration of Jeremy’s life will be held on Monday at 6:00PM at the Dalton United Methodist Church, 125 S. Turnpike Road in Dalton, to be conducted by Pastor T.J. McCabe. Arrangements are under the care of the under the care of the Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 North Main Avenue, Scranton.
Jeremy’s family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to the entire community who’ve collectively shown an overwhelming support and love. They’ll forever appreciate it all.
