Michael Duplessis, 60, of Scranton, passed away Thursday at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore, after a courageous fight with Cancer. He is survived by his beloved wife, Eleanor Baldoni Duplessis. The couple would have celebrated their wedding anniversary December 16th.
Born on August 10, 1958, son of the late Robert and Camilla Roskoski Duplessis, Michael was raised and educated in Carbondale. For nearly 20 years he worked for Mercy/Regional Hospital of Scranton where even throughout his bout with cancer he remained dedicated to his work.
When he wasn’t working, Michael could be found relaxing with ROCK 107 on the radio and a beer firmly secured in his hand. Now at peace, he will be missed.
He is also survived by his step-children, Christina Torres, Tyrone Baldoni, Pennyann LaFlair and Richard LaFlair, all of Scranton, Robert LaFlair of Carbondale and Randy LaFlair of Jessup; his siblings, Robert Duplessis of Scranton, Francis Duplessis of Waymart, Yvette Pollack of Jessup, Jean Louis Duplessis of Blakely, Thomas Duplessis of Hurleysville, Raymond Duplessis of Falls Twp., and Adrian Duplessis of Scranton; many step-grandchildren, especially his adored Gabriel and Roberto Torres; and many loving nieces and nephews.
A brother, Richard Duplessis, also preceded him in death.
His family would like to thank Sacred Heart Hospice’s entire staff for making Michael’s stay as comfortable as possible.
A Blessing Service by Deacon Carmen Mendicino, St. Lucy’s Parish, is scheduled for Monday at noon at the Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 North Main Avenue, Scranton. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Monday from 10:00AM until services.
