Theresa Marie Davis, 65, of Old Forge, passed away Wednesday evening at Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore, after an illness. She is survived by her loving husband, Wayland Davis, Sr. Wed on her favorite holiday, Halloween, 1981, the couple were married for 37 years.
Born in Scranton on June 28, 1953, daughter of the late Chester and Helen Benichuk Grocki, Theresa was a graduate of West Scranton High School, Class of 1971. For 33 years prior to her retirement, she worked for RCA – Thompson Consumer Electronics of Scranton.
Theresa enjoyed crocheting, baking, decorating and would never turn down an opportunity to shop or watch a Hallmark movie. Above all was spending time with her family. From being with her children, and granddaughter, Angelica Hope, to road trips with her sisters, she was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and aunt who will be forever missed.
She is also survived by her beloved children, Wayland Davis, Jr. and partner Tony Howey of Scranton, Ashley Davis of Old Forge and Alison Montone and husband Vinnie of Brackney; her granddchildren, Angelica Hope, Marina and Eric Parker; her siblings, Robert Grocki and wife Carol of SC., Gloria Bowen of Scranton, Carol Czyzyk of Scranton and Madelyn Zvolensky of Olyphant; and many nieces and nephews.
An infant sister, Elaine; and brothers, John, Joseph and Chester Grocki also preceded her in death.
Her family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of the Sacred Heart for the amazing care and comfort provided to both Theresa and her family throughout her stay. Memorial contributions may be made in Therersa’s name to Sacred Heart Hospice, 600 Baltimore Dr # 7, Wilkes-Barre, 18702.
Theresa’s life will be celebrated on Sunday at the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge, with a 12:00PM Blessing Service. Relatives and friends may pay their respects from 10:00AM until services.
