John “Johnny Blaze” Michaely, V, age 30, of Old Forge, passed away Sunday morning at home.
Born in Scranton on September 20, 1988, John was the adored son of Christina Smith Wescott of Wyoming and John Michaely, IV and wife Janet of Scranton. Educated at Pittston Area High School, he worked for American Asphalt Paving Company in Shavertown as a heavy equipment operator.
An avid hunter and fisherman, John loved the outdoors. Learning mechanics at an early age, he also enjoyed working on cars, and was a die-hard San Fransisco 49ers fan. Remembered as someone who would give away the shirt on his back for a person in need, he will be dearly missed and forever loved by countless friends and family members.
He is also survived by his beloved children, Hailey, John, VI, Bree and Ethan John Michaely; his dear step-father, Michael Wescott, Sr. and companion Kim Boyle of Duryea; his siblings, Carl Slack, Jr., Adam, Kayla and Amber Michaely, all of Scranton; Tiffany Wescott and companion William Phillips of Exeter, Michelle Wescott of Throop and Mikey Wescott, Jr., of Duryea; siblings, Anthony and Candace Brazen, all of Scranton, Stephen Brazen, IV, of Taylor, and Serena McDermott of Wilkes Barre; grandfather, John “Buddy” Michaely, III. of Scranton; step-mother, Angel Michaely of Scranton; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Grandmothers, Patricia Smith and Renee Michaely, also preceded him in death.
