Bernice (Bea) S. Whyte, age 72, previously of Old Forge, passed away Sunday morning, following an illness, at Riverside Rehabilitation Center in Taylor after a 13-year stay.
Born in Newark, New Jersey on December 30, 1945, Bea was the daughter of the late Bernard F. and Stella M. Dzieza Whyte. Educated at Our Lady of Good Council in Newark, she worked as an accounting clerk for the Prudential Insurance Company for 17 years. Of Roman Catholic faith, she was a devoted member of the former St. Michael’s Church Parish in Old Forge, now Prince of Peace, prior to its closure. She was also a huge fan of the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley. Passing away peacefully, she will be dearly missed.
Several loving nieces, nephews and cousins survive.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Glenn Whyte.
Funeral services will begin on Tuesday with a noon blessing service to be celebrated by Rev. August A. Ricciardi, Prince of Peace Parish Pastor, at the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge. Interment will folow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Old Forge.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday from 11:00AM until services.
