S. Ryan Kojsza, age 40, a lifelong Scranton resident, tragically passed away Tuesday evening in an automobile accident in Roaring Brook Twp.
He leaves behind countless relatives and friends but none more special to him than his loving family: his beloved mother Lori A. Zepponi, his adored children, Aydan Ryan and Giuliana Valerie, his sister and best friend, Tara E. Kojsza, and his father, Stephen Kojsza, all of Scranton.
Born on March 14, 1978, Ryan was a graduate of Dunmore High School, Class of 1996. After earning his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Penn State University, he then graduated from Wilkes University with a Masters Degree in Business Administration. He worked as a supervisor for United Parcel Service.
An outdoorsman, a survivalist, a planner, a New York Yankees, a car enthusiast, and an avid mountain biker, Ryan’s interests and hobbies widely ranged but above all passions was his love for his children. Words could never express the love he had for them as he constantly strove to be their role model. If he leaves behind anything at all, it would be the message to his children that their Daddy loved them more than anything.
His internal strength far surpassed his outward strength and his selflessness in his care for his family will only be a small part of his legacy. He now joins his sister in heaven where they’ll together be watching down upon his loved ones forever.
With his mother, son, daughter, sister and father, he is also survived by an uncle, Richard Zepponi; an aunt and uncle, Julia and Etienne Kojsza; cousins and countless friends, both near and afar
He was preceded in death by his beloved sister, Valerie Ann Kojsza; maternal grandparents, Valero and Natalie Colacichi Zepponi; and paternal grandparents, Stephen and Kari Moskowitz Kojsza.
Funeral services are scheduled to begin on Monday at 9:15AM from the Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 North Main Avenue, Scranton, with a 10:00AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick’s Church, 1403 Jackson Street in West Scranton to be celebrated by Rev. Richard Fox, Pastor. Interment will follow at St. Francis Cemetery in Eynon.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Sunday between 3-7:00PM at the funeral home.
