Ann Marie (McCabe) Mosley, age 88, of Camarillo, California, and a native of Scranton, passed away Sunday, September 2nd. She and her husband, James W. Mosley, were wed on June 6, 1953 at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, New York, N.Y.
Born on March 27, 1930, and raised in the Minooka section of Scranton, she was the daughter of the late James and Clare Cooke McCabe. She studied pre-nursing at Marywood College before earning her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Cornell University – New York Hospital – in 1953. She also received a Bachelors in English Literature from Boston University in 1959. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a home health care nurse for the Los Angeles Veterans Administration.
Grateful for her many blessings by God, Ann Marie had a wonderful family, including amazing children, grandchildren and friends who had loved her dearly while only deepening her faith. She will forever be missed.
She is survived by her children, Bruce Mosley and wife Ann, Carolyn Hansen and Laura Mosley; and two grandchildren, Anthony James (A.J.) and Kasey.
Her dearest friend and loyal mentor, her brother James McCabe, Jr., also preceded her in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Saturday, October 27th, at 10:00AM at Divine Mercy Parish, 312 Davis Street in Scranton, to be celebrated by Rev. Francis Pauselli, Pastor. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Respects may be paid 9:30AM until Mass.
Li lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ann Marie’s name to the American Heart Association, 5455 North High Street, Columbus, OH, 43214 . Arrangements are under the care of the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge.
