Obituaries

Otis John “Jack” Spencer, age 87, of Scranton, a proud U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict, passed away Friday. He beloved wife, Lena Fox Spencer, preceded him in death on June 28, 2017.
Born on January 10, 1931 to the late Otis Duane and Helen Rice Spencer, Otis served in the United States Air Force until his Honorable Discharge in 1953, eventually rewarded with the Good Conduct Medal. For three decades, he worked as a Union Plumber in Bronx, New York, until his retirement.
He is survived by grandchildren, John and Erin; a sister, Merrie Jo Bryfonski; a sister-in-law, Nora Fox; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, John Owen Spencer, Sr., on December 30, 2017, and a sister, Sallie Rose Kelly.
Funeral arrangements are private and under the care of the Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 North Main Avenue, Scranton.
