Taini Helen Elizabeth Love, age 29, of the Minooka section of Scranton, passed away on Monday.
Born in Scranton on August 20, 1988 and raised in Old Forge then in the Minooka section of Scranton, Taini was the beloved daughter of Joanna Maffei Hershey, adoring mother of her two-and-a-half-year-old princess, Lyra Jean Love Burke, and devoted fiance and best friend of Jeremy Burke. A graduate of Scranton High School, Class of 2006, she then attended East Stroudsburg University before earning her Bachelors Degree from Marywood University. Her gigantic heart made her perfect in the role of a social work, and she had also worked for the Public Assistance Office, Scranton State Office Building.
An artist to her very core, Taini was a talented crafter, poet, painter and actor having taken a role in several local theatrical productions. Never afraid to voice her opinion, she was a political activist who was also in-tune with nature, finding peace and solitude in camping and hiking.
She enjoyed dancing, music, hula hooping and meeting new people. Her real abiding passion was her family and friends, and she sought to instill in others a zest for life, loyalty to family and friends and the power of a smile. She will forever be missed.
She is also survived by her siblings, Jessica Connor and husband Patrick of Taylor, Duane Saunders and wife Jessie of Moosic, Kachina Profaci and husband Joseph of New Jersey, Jolon Richardson and Renee Sarf of Avoca and JacyJene Richardson of Roulette; seven nieces and nephews, Peyton, Ella and Seamus Connor, Madilyn Profaci, twins Libby and Ian Saunders and Brynlee Bell; her step-father, Rodney Hershey of Roulette; step-siblings, Becky McGuire and Beth and James Hershey; Jeremy’s parents, Gerald and Mary Joan Burke of Scranton; Jeremy’s siblings, Justin, Jeff and Megan Burke, all of Scranton; Jeremy’s nieces and nephews whom she considered her own, Nick, Connor, Aidan, Ruby and Rory Burke, all of Scranton; and countless friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Pop Frank and Mama Jean Maffei.
