Michael C . Zaladonis died unexpectedly on Saturday, July 7th.
Born in Taylor, on November 30, 1953, and the son of the late Casimir and Celia Cure Zaladonis, Michael graduated from Pittston Area High School, Class of 1972. He enjoyed fishing and hiking and was a diehard football fan, loving the Philadelphia Eagles, Pittsburgh Steelers and Penn State Nittany Lions.
He leaves three children; Michael Zaladonis and wife Elizabeth of New Jersey, Todd Zaladonis and wife Rachel of Delaware and Laura Winters of King of Prussia; three grandchildren: Claire Zaladonis, Colin Zaladonis, and Dylan Winters; four siblings; James Zaladonis of Duryea, Thomas Zaladonis of Pittston, Kay Timlin of Avoca and Mary Shaunessy of Ohio; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Michael’s name to the National Stroke Association c/o 9707 East Easter Lane, Suite B, Centennial, CO, 80112. A blessing service is scheduled for Saturday at 11:00AM at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Duryea to be celebrated by Rev. Phil J. Sladicka, Queen of the Apostles Pastor. Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Homes, Inc., 517 North Main Street in Old Forge.
